Carmen Miranda
Protagonist of a meteoric career, Carmen got an international recognition like no other artist in the country, first in Argentina and other Latin American countries and later in the United States, Europe and worldwide.
On May 29, 1939 Carmen premiered at the musical show "Streets of Paris", in Boston, with resounding success of public and critics. Their participation theater became increasingly famous. On March 5, 1940, made a presentation to President Franklin D. Roosevelt during a banquet at the White House. In no time he had interests in programs with large audiences, singing songs like "Mama I Want", "Tico-tico no Fuba" "What Is It That the Bahian?" and "South American Way" and also became a phenomenon in the U.S..
The "Bombshell" became a huge international star, and in 1945 had the highest salary in Hollywood, above the likes of Cary Grant and Humphrey Bogart. Became known as "The Brazilian Bombshell" or Brazilian Explosion.
